Science Demo Road Show
Can you believe it? We are actually doing it! I looked back through the old Education Newsletters and noticed this "mobile science lab" was my first article.
Jen Johnson, Jackie Francy, Marc Maxson, and Lisa Reimer will be going to 12 schools November 6th through November 10th to do science demos with reasonably easy-to-find materials and instructions mostly pulled from schools' own textbooks. We hope that some of the science teachers will realize how effective and feasible some experiments can be, and incorporate them into their lessons. GRTS has been invited to film our Njaba Kunda show where we will attempt to implode a steel can and create a bathtub of exploding white foam. Unfortunately, they will miss "edison's pickle experiment" where you turn a regular pickle into a light bulb.

Local Language Typing Tutor
The free tiny typing tutor which will run on any computer and uses your own lessons is almost done. I'd given up on it but since PCVs from Francophone countries complained of not having a French language typing program I am again working on it.
The drills can be in any language. I am searching for someone interested in writing Wolof, Fula, or Mandika drills for the typing tutor.

Editor's Note
You will never have to hear from me (Marc) again. I am too busy editing the Phatwad. The new editors are Kate Whitman and Misty Will.
